Douglas Cloutier Mirror?
I recently found a mirror crafted by an Artist named Douglas Cloutier which I am interested in purchasing. The frame is completely encrusted in Swarovski crystals which are clawed in jewelery findings. It measures approx., 22" X 60" and is an amazing "one of a kind" and signed by the artist. Has anybody heard of this artist and if so, would $6,000.00 be a good price for a piece like this? The dealer is saying that it was originally priced at 10, but is last years stock (yah, yah, yah...but it really is beautiful!)
Very interesting as I asked a similar question the other day. I purchased a mirror a couple of years ago by Douglas Cloutier and it is "Exquisite!" Talk about "BLING!". He's created some beautiful pieces ranging from decorated Horseshoes to furniture. He usually uses Swarovski crystals and vintage jewellery but I've also seen frames made from Coral and stones such as turquoise (Jenifer Aniston apparently has one of his coral mirrors!)
For the size you mention, it sounds like a decent price. Here's a link to a dealer who has something similar @ $6,500.
